Adventure is
Out There

In most of my games I've gone into making them with the mindset of having the functionality first and the art will come whenever I get to it.
I wanted to make just one level for a game that had pretty visuals and a fun aesthetic. That's why I began working on "Adventure is out there"
Goals

Process
One of the main things I wanted to do with this project was have a playable character with fluid hand drawn animation. I knew it was going to be a lot to do which is why I started early.
I made animations for running and sprinting. I wasn't too fond of the sprinting animation at first because I didn't really know how the tail should move but other than that I was pretty happy with everything.

After animating the main character I went on to do some level design. I like sonic mania's approach to level design. In sonic mania the stage lets you hold toward a single direction and it will change your trajectory if you veer too far off the path.
This way all kinds of players can pick up the game and have fun when playing.
