With this game "Gummy Guys" I knew I wanted to make a game that had more of a focus on gameplay. That was a big reason as to why I ended up deciding on making a puzzle platformer.

Goals

Process

Our team for this game jam game consisted of 2 people primarily, Jacob who has a focus in programming and gameplay engineering and me, who has a focus in technical design and puzzle design.

My responsibilities

When making this game I wore a lot of hats due to how small the team was.

- Game design (Coming up with the simple yet effective core gameplay mechanic)

- Level and Puzzle design (Making clever levels that eased the player into the solution)

- Making the camera system for the game. (This system makes sure that all of the guys are in camera view no matter how far away they are from each other.) I was really happy with how this turned out.

- Character modeling, rigging, and animations. (Taking some tips from a friend of mine who is really good at animation)

- Animation implementation (making the animation blueprint and the accompanying state machine)
